The Sunday Reset: How To Plan Your Week Without Stress

Sundays used to be my least favorite day. The looming “Monday energy” would creep in around 3 p.m., and suddenly I was overwhelmed with all the things I hadn’t done, the meals I hadn’t planned, and the laundry staring at me like it knew something I didn’t.

But somewhere along the way, I discovered the magic of the Sunday Reset, a simple, no-pressure routine that helps me step into the new week feeling more in control and less like a human tornado.

Here’s how to create your own Sunday reset without making it feel like another to-do list:

1. Tidy Up the Chaos — Just a ‘Lil Bit

You don’t need a spotless house, but putting away the weekend mess (hello, swimsuit pile and empty snack wrappers) makes Monday morning feel a whole lot calmer. I usually set a timer for 20–30 minutes and do a power clean with some music — it’s surprisingly satisfying.

2. Look at the Week Ahead

Pull out your calendar or planner and glance through the week. What appointments are coming up? What’s going on with school, work, or activities? I like to jot down any major tasks, events, or reminders so I don’t wake up on Monday already behind.

3. Make a Loose Meal Plan

This doesn’t have to be fancy. Just jot down 4–5 meals you can make (or already have prepped) and pencil them into your week. I try to build meals around what’s already in the fridge and freezer — bonus points for anything that lasts more than one night. Click HERE for the weekly planner I use.

4. Check in With Yourself

Take five minutes (even while sipping coffee) to ask yourself: What do I need this week? Is it more rest? More movement? Less scrolling? Just a little self-awareness can help you steer your week intentionally instead of reacting to it.

5. Do One Thing That Feels Like Self-Care

It could be washing your hair, prepping outfits, painting your nails, or doing a face mask. Something small that reminds you: I matter, too.

Final Thought

The Sunday Reset isn’t about productivity, it’s about peace. It’s about giving yourself a soft landing after a long week and a gentle launch into the next one. And honestly, it’s shifted into becoming my favorite part of the weekend.

Try it this Sunday (even if you only do one or two things) and see how it shifts your week.
