If you're after an easy chocolate cake that still manages to impress a crowd, this is the one. Bundt cakes are great for so many reasons — they're easy to make, easy to decorate, and easy to cut. What more do you really need? More chocolate on top, obviously.
Ingredients
- 1 box dark chocolate fudge cake mix (Duncan Hines)
- 1 small box (3.4 oz.) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 eggs
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 1 (12 oz.) bag mini chocolate chips, divided
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, oil, water, eggs, and sour cream. Beat at medium speed for 1-2 minutes.
- 2Add 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips and stir into the batter.
- 3Grease and flour a 10-cup bundt pan and spoon in the batter. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 4Let cool for 15-18 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
- 5Place the remaining chocolate chips in a small mixing bowl. Heat the heavy cream in the microwave for 45-60 seconds, until it starts to boil.
- 6Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and whisk together until melted and smooth.
- 7Move the cake to a serving platter and spoon the ganache evenly over the top, letting it drip down the sides. Garnish with extra chocolate chips if you're feeling extra chocolatey.
