I'm always hunting for quick weeknight dinners, and this one has become a family favorite. I grew up in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, but somehow didn't eat much seafood as a kid — that love developed later, especially after culinary school.
This dish came about when we had friends over and my husband asked for a meat entree to go with my Gourmet Lobster Mac 'n Cheese. I teased him about being high-maintenance, but he was right — it's quick, easy, and pairs perfectly with just about anything.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp. unsalted butter (use ghee or plant butter for dairy-free)
- 1 oz. white wine or cooking sherry
- 1 tbsp. minced garlic
- 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Instructions
- 1Toss the shrimp with the dry seasonings in a small mixing bowl.
- 2Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the wine and garlic. Cook for 1 minute.
- 3Add the shrimp and cook until opaque and cooked through, 2-4 minutes.
- 4Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
